Notes for week commencing Monday 13 December 1999
In the first round of the North of Scotland Shield, Triangle Pumas playing Mike Wheatley (22), Mitch Reid (14) and Ian Duncan (14) beat, with comparative ease, a Seaton Seniors team consisting of Bob Hart (24), Abbey Birnie (24) and Norman Horne (23).

The Seniors were until this season in division 1 and it might have been expected that they could have capitalised on their substantial handicap advantage and made it through to the next round of the competition. Birnie was however the only Seaton player to win a match. Against Wheatley in the final match of the evening he won 61-55 to gain some consolation from an evening's play which Messrs Hart, Birnie and Horne will otherwise wish to forget.

Reid defeated Birnie 61-53; Hart 61-53; and Horne 61-55 whilst Duncan beat Horne 61-50; Birnie 61-46; and Hart 61-56. Wheatley took his points against Hart 61-52 and Horne 61-54. The final difference between the teams was a massive 63 points and 8-1 in matches.

This match also flagged up the possibility of the Pumas being rather favourably handicapped. All players' handicaps for all handicap competitions will be reviewed after the Christmas and New Year break.

Play starts again on the week beginning January 10.
