Notes for week commencing Monday 29 November 1999
In outings in successive days in division 2 against ALC Aces and Seaton Seniors Jim Furneaux of Seaton Legionnaires emerged undefeated.

Roger Duncan, Arthur Anderson, and Mike Booth provided the opposition for the Legionnaires in the first fixture but none proved capable of providing any serious opposition for an in-form Furneaux. A 10 and 6 defeat for Booth was followed by an 8 and 11 loss for Anderson. Furneaux then capped a fine nights play with a 15 and 20 victory against Duncan.

In the same fixture Jim Clark won two matches against Anderson (14 and 17) and Duncan (16 and 15) and lost one against Booth (15 and 17). Bill Esson beat Anderson 13 and 18 and lost to Duncan (9 and 17) and Booth (12 and 18). The doubles match was won by Clark and Furneaux over Duncan and Anderson 14 and 19.

In their second fixture Legionnaires went down by the closest of margins in a local derby against Seniors despite another excellent performance by Furneaux.

On this occasion Furneaux beat Norman Horne 12, -16, 19; Abbey Birnie 16 and 9; and Bob Hart 16 and 13.

Legionnaires could thereafter only muster one further point when Clark beat Horne -5, 10, 7. A Clark/Furneaux pairing failed in the doubles against Horne and Hartby 14 and 14.
